Multi-Activity Canoeing Days Out in the Wye Valley

Our Instructor led Multi-Activity Adventures are a great way to experience as much as possible in just one day or over a few days.

A lot of our packages include Canoeing or Kayaking as that’s our main passion, so for the first half of the day it’s likely you will be taking one of the most spectacular canoe trips on the Wye, Kerne Bridge to Symonds Yat, the trip takes around 3 hours and will take you through some of the most stunning scenery in Britain and below the famous Symonds Yat viewpoint, but if canoeing isn’t your thing then that’s fine just pick and mix the activities you like and will be put together a bespoke adventure package just for you!

Our Multi-Day Multi Activity Adventures are very popular weekend breaks when you combine them with some Camping or Riverside Accommodation. If you are looking for the best two day adventure then we’d suggest day one is the finest Full Day Canoe Trip on the Wye; Kerne Bridge to Redbook with a lunch stop at the beautiful riverside 15c Ferrie Inn. You’ll paddle through two counties and three counties and take in the famous rapids here at Symonds Yat. After a great evening in Symonds Yat Gorge it’s off for more fun of either Gorge Walking, Climbing, Caving, Mountain Biking, Bushcraft, Orienteering etc.. or if you fancy another day on the water maybe try some Kayaking, Canoeing or even Raft building.

Canoeing & Guided Walk

Canoeing the Rapids

The first half of the day will be taking one of the most spectacular Canoe Trips from Kerne Bridge to Symonds Yat, the trip takes around 3 hours and will take you through some of the most stunning scenery in the Wye Valley and below the famous Symonds Yat viewpoint, then after lunch it’s off for a fun afternoon discovering some of the local areas hidden secrets.

Your walking guide will take you to places such as King Arthurs Cave, Seven Sisters viewpoint and an Iron Age Fort, in the spring the forest is carpeted in bluebells and looks stunning. You are likely to come across fallow deer, and maybe wild boar, wild birds such as peregrine falcons soar above you and the ancient forest and landscape are enchanting.

Canoeing & Orienteering

Full Day – £100 pp

Multi-Activity Canoeing & Orienteering Day Out in the Wye Valley

Orienteering is a great activity that requires navigational skills using a map and compass to navigate from point to point in diverse and usually unfamiliar terrain, and normally moving at speed.

Participants are given a topographical map and a specially prepared orienteering map, which they use to find control points, you will not be guided through the course, the idea is to find your own way around!

Bushcraft

One Day Bushcraft

This course is designed to introduce you to basic bushcraft and survival techniques.
Located in the beautiful Forest of Dean you are in the perfect location to learn a blend of bushcraft and survival skills, including knife and axe skills, shelter building, foraging, game preparation and bushcraft cooking.

Canoeing and Bushcraft go hand in hand and to be able to experience this in the beautiful Wye Valley is an opportunity not to be missed. Spend the morning on the stunning River Wye and the afternoon in the Forest of Dean finding your inner Mears.

Canoeing & Bushcraft Weekend

Or why not make a weekend of it. Your two day adventure begins at the beautiful market town of Ross on Wye , you paddle down stream with your guide taking in the stunning scenery before camping overnight under famous Yat Rock and the stars surrounded by fantastic wildlife. Learn fire starting techniques, how to prepare and cook your dinner and expedition shelter building. A true life experience for the outdoor lover.

Multi-Activity Canoeing & Climbing Day Out in the Wye Valley

This is a chance to experience one the best climbing locations in the country. Our highly experienced climbing & caving instructors will show you everything you need to know to get started with the emphasis on safe enjoyment of the sports. The climbing at Symonds Yat Rock is suitable for all levels including complete novices, it is a friendly venue set in stunning surroundings.

All sessions are tailored to the party’s desires and level of experience. Climbing, abseiling and caving are great fun activities and combined with canoeing provide a day out to remember and a great introduction to the sports for beginners.

Canoeing and Mountain Biking

Mountain Biking

For the full day Canoeing and Mountain Biking the first half of the day will be taking one of the most spectacular Canoe Trips from Kerne Bridge to Symonds Yat, the trip takes around 3 hours and will take you through some of the most stunning scenery in the Wye Valley and below the famous Symonds Yat viewpoint, then after lunch it’s off into the beautiful Forest of Dean to experience the fantastic local trails. If you prefer to make a weekend of it then you will be paddling from Kerne Bridge to Redbrook on day one then a great full day of riding the trails on day two, where you can cover a lot of ground and some epic runs.

Mountain Biking has grown in popularity over the past few years and the Wye Valley has some of the best trails in the country. Our guides are experts and can show you some fantastic local hidden gems or if you fancy we can take you riding on a range of well known local trails, either way you are in for a fantastic time.

Canoeing & Gorge Walking

Multi-Activity Canoeing & Gorge Walking

The first half of the day will be taking one of the most spectacular Canoe Trips from Kerne Bridge to Symonds Yat, the trip takes around 3 hours and will take you through some of the most stunning scenery in the Wye Valley and below the famous Symonds Yat viewpoint, then after lunch it’s off to a beautiful Welsh Gorge.

We provide your wetsuit and helmet, all you need is a swimming costume and a pair of old trainers and you are good to go. You will climb and crawl up through the gorgeous gorge, in stunning surroundings and led by highly experienced instructors you will be slowly and safely introduced to the fast growing sport of Gorge Walking or as it’s also called Gorge Scrambling. You will never be asked to something you don’t feel comfortable doing but for those who fancy a challenge there are plenty of plunge pools for that big leap. Gorge Walking & Climbing

Full Day – £65 pp

Climbing

This is a fantastic way out if you have a head for heights and like to get wet. One of our favourite locations for this wonderful day out is Dinas Rock in South Wales. We can either meet you at the gorge itself or transport you to the location.

Gorge scrambling and climbing, caving or abseiling is a fun and action packed day out, with gorge scrambling you are going to have a blast leaping off waterfalls and scrambling through the gorge then after a bit of lunch it’s time to really scale the rock with a bit of climbing, there is climbing for all abilities and if you don’t fancy going up then why not just come down by abseiling, either way you are going to have a blast and a day out you and your group will not forget.

Wye Canoes Wild Adventure

Two Days or Weekend – £149 pp

Gorge Walking

It’s been called “the best adventure weekend in Britain”, this package includes Canoeing, Gorge scrambling and climbing or caving. Perfect for that memorable stag or hen weekend or just having a blast with some friends.

Day one is a fantastic canoe trip from Kerne Bridge to Redbrook with the opportunity for a pub lunch on route, after lunch run the grade 2 rapids at Symonds Yat and paddle through Wales back into England. Afterwards back to Symonds Yat for the evening at one the many riverside pubs. The following day we are off to South Wales for some gorge srambling and climbing, caving or abseiling, with gorge scrambling you are going to have a blast leaping off waterfalls and climbing the fantastic rock walls.

Canoeing & Laser Ops

Full Day – £50 pp

Laser Ops

Spend the morning accompanied by our highly Experienced River Guides and paddle through stunning scenery following the river as it meanders down through the spectacular Wye Valley. The river passes under the well renowned view point of Symonds Yat Rock, which is also famous for its peregrine falcons, finishing back in time for lunch at the wonderful Ye Old Ferrie Inn.

After lunch it’s time for Mission Bravo Laser Ops. You and your Special Operations unit are tasked to help the local population seek, disrupt and destroy the insurgents. Two hours of exciting 10-minute tactical games on a purpose-built battleground. .
