I guess most of us like cherries, well I love them and have ever since I can remember, but there is more reason to like them than you think. For those of you out there that take exercise regularly or train for a particular sport such as canoeing, mountain biking or running then you may want to get some of the sweet cherry nectar. Anergogenic aid is a substance, food or training method used to improve performance or recovery. There is a whole industry based around this and they come in many forms, clearly the best are natural whole foods and cherry juice is one of them. It is claimed that cherry juice has anti-inflammatory antioxidant compounds called anthocyanins, that promote faster recovery after exercise by mitigating the muscle damage caused by hard exercise. The advise is that you drink good quality cherry juice, with no additives, after exercise; or add cherries to yoghurt’s or cereal etc.. or just chow down on the sweet fruit when they are in season. In a world packed with iso-this and iso-that and constantly being bombarded with information about what you should and shouldn’t eat and drink it’s great to think that before the age of marketing and brand awareness that mother nature already pretty much had it nailed… and of course this is just a suggestion and maybe you could just carry on with the Hereford cider method..lol
