Wye Canoes are based in the beautiful Wye Valley

The Wye Valley is a protected landscape that forms the border between England and Wales. It’s one of the most dramatic and scenic landscape areas in the Southern Britain.
The area itself covers parts of the counties of Gloucestershire, Herefordshire and Monmouthshire and is known for its dense native woodlands, beautiful clear river, rare wildlife and of course its steep wooded gorges that carries the River Wye through the southern Wye Valley from Symonds Yat to Chepstow.

Known to be the Birthplace of British Tourism following the publication of the book “Observations on the River Wye” by William Gilpin in 1770, which also launched the picturesque movement and changed our way of looking at the landscape forever. The area now boasts a fantastic range of outdoor activities from canoeing and kayaking to mountain biking, climbing, and hiking.

With beautiful views, incredible wildlife such as rare peregrine falcons, deer and wild boar, the Wye Valley is certainly somewhere you will remember. You can explore Symonds Yat, where signs of man date back some 15,000 years or more with King Arthur’s Cave or run the fantastic Symonds Yat Rapids and test your skill with the paddle.
Along with being the Birthplace of British Tourism, the Wye Valley is also the Birthplace of the Industrial Revolution, parts of an original forge are currently being excavated on the West side of Symonds Yat Rapids.
So come and enjoy the Wye Valley for yourself and let Wye Canoes organise an outdoor experience you will never forget.
