How to book in your Wye Canoes Adventure

Payment Methods

We can take credit or debit card payments over the phone to hold the booking (we just charge 75p for any credit card transaction).

Cheques will only be accepted as a deposit for bookings well in advance, but be aware, the booking is not properly secured until cheque has cleared.

Final Payment – Credit or Debit Card or Cash payments ONLY – cheques will NOT be accepted as final payment on the day of hire.

Booking in General Hire

General Hire Only

A 50% deposit will be taken to hold the booking.

  • No booking is guaranteed until a deposit has been taken, if deposit payment is made by cheque that is until cheque has been banked and cleared.
  • Cancellations made by the customer 7 days before the booking date will receive a full refund.
  • Cancellations made by the customer within 7 days will lose the 50% deposit.
  • If a booking is cancelled by the customer within 48 hours of the booking start then the full hire costs will be charged. For Gift Voucher bookings this means that the voucher is no longer valid and cannot be re-used.
  • Cancellation by the company (Wye Canoes Ltd) due to adverse weather conditions or river levels will not be charged and a re-arrangement of the booking will be attempted or deposit refunded.

Booking in Activities with Guides or Instructors

Guided Trips, Instruction or Courses

A 50% non-refundable deposit will be taken to hold the booking.

  • Full payment with final confirmed numbers is due 14 days before booking date.
  • Cancellations made by the customer within 14 days will get no refund, full payment is due if not already received.
  • Whilst every reasonable attempt will be made to deliver trips, Wye Canoes Ltd reserves the right to cancel or modify the trips due to safety considerations and factors beyond our control.

Meeting Time for Your Booking

Meeting Times – Meeting times are given for the relevant trip you are doing and we generally aim to get you on the river about an 1hr to 1.5hrs after this time. This allows time to do paperwork, get you kitted out with all equipment, give you a full paddle and safety talk and then take you up to the launch to launch you on the river. We ask that you aim to be at the meeting point at least 15 minutes before to make sure that you are coming to the right place, and do not arrive late.

Please note that arriving late for your allocated meeting time can affect the schedule of trips and mean delays for others booked in for the rest of the day, so please arrive on time and take note of directions on how to find us.

If you arrive too late for your appointed meeting time – you may miss out on going altogether or not be able to go on the trip originally outlined for you as transport has to leave at particular times in order to be back for allocated trips later in the day.
